The bulk of the world believes there is life after death. Indeed each religious tradition insists that this is so.

Amongst this massive majority who believe in the infinity beyond reason, many accept we each are repeatedly reborn into new bodies and lives in an ongoing cycle of reincarnation.

For these people there is awareness that events is this life are connected to events that have occurred in previous incarnations. It is as though the DNA is more than the gift of two parents genetic propensities, rather DNA becomes the mechanical code of karma.

For adherents to this construction of reality, the experience of past lives has a direct relationship to challenges confronted in the here and now. For example if a person was drowned in a past life they may be scared of the water in this life.

In a counselling context it is well understood that peoples problems have their roots in prior experience. Decisions made in the past will affect your world until you re-evaluate them.

It is possible for people to retrain their thinking to simply step over their issues and stride towards the future they prefer. Counselling tends to be more successful however if the past is acknowledged and understood. In counselling it can be fundamentally important to revisit the initial sensitising experience in one way or another.

One therapeutic technique that embraces all this is Past Life Regression through Hypnosis. In this technique clients are able to use hypnotic trance to suspend their busy mind and so be able to access the deep annals of their distant memory.

My personal experience of facilitating this process is that it reaps rich rewards, providing a vision of tremendous interest and relevance to the situations that are of current concern.

Sceptics suggest that Past Life Regression is a construction derived from the subjects’ imagination and is as real as a dream. For those who believe no proof is required, for those who do not, no proof will suffice. Regardless of the fact or fiction of this sceptical position, the truth is that Past Life Regression achieves powerful and positive results.
